2010 SPEED STEED

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
2010 SPEED STEED
A 2009 carbon blank built up to be an Ebay dream come true.

This bike is an instant speed increase of three to six miles per hour over my entry level aluminum road bike.

"No way!," I exclaimed and I had to laugh when I took the front wheel out of the box. The carbon fiber is about as light as a pair of spd pedal. The brake levers are as small as a hummingbird's wing and the handlebars scream, "Faster... FASTER!!!"

That's big time excitement on wheels!!

Yeah, it's for the roads :I
Training, triathlons, and time trials, mainly. Doesn't make a great commuter either.

I know how you feel, brother! This one's been three or four years worth of patience. It was a long time coming, but being just over 15 lbs, it sure was worth it!

Wow. 15 lbs. That is SOMETHING else! The technology in tri-bike world has just gone bonkers. Especially the way the seatstays wrap around the wheel. I'll be curious to hear what you clock this bad boy at!

Yeah, I am a bit leery and tentative to take it out because of the TUBULAR wheels! :(

If I flat on those feather weight tires, its like a $120 to ship and get another glued on. Somethings gonna have to give here.

A weight-watcher's dream. One sure appreciates what even a small load is when pedalling. Offload even 2 pounds and you notice it.

Though, conversely, greater weight increases downhill speed. Guess that makes it a tough choice for the beers and wine carriers !!

Pretty cool in all black. Looks like "Vorlon" technology !!

I know that even if I was given one in Poland, it wouldl't make sense at all given the roads state... :D

Sure, even for road cycling a mountain bike is adviseable :D As for MTB, we are blessed by the amount of forestry trails. Also the marked trails network, I must say one of the (and perhaps the only) positive things that remains from pre-89 socialism...

Thanks Billy, I have mainly been running this summer but a took a 20 mile spin tonight and rejuvenated the thrill of life on two wheels. I signed up for the Cd'A Ironman and plan on this beaut to get me through it. The run's my weakness so I have tried to up my ante this summer in that discipline. The time trials is something unique that I will be learning more about as well now.

Thanks for the cheers!!

A worthy spot for the high-tech. Wonder if any alien race in the rest of the Universe has created the bike. An interesting thought. Hmmm. Ha. Watch this Space, I guess !!

A tribe in Mexico. Oh man, you have just got to read a book I just read (ifyouhavntalready) ....'Born to Run" by Christopher McDougall. This book was one of the most fun and inspiring set of words I've dumped my eyes through in a long time!!! Gosh....I guess in a nutshell it talks about how for 'centuries the Tarahumara have practiced techniiques that allow them to run hundreds of miles without rest.. and chase down deer to Olympic atheletes'....and ..surfy wacky American runners with unorthodox styles that keep them going and going and going...and so on.. - a drn gsh good read.. IMHO

Oh, thanks Bill!! Man, I gotta get into it. A friend told me a bit about it but your description makes it all the more must-readable. Running without rest sounds perfectly irresistible! sounds like a delicious page-turner!!
