Overview

The Alpine Loop has about 40 miles of outstanding trails from easy to hard. Share the trail with abundant motorcycles Saturday mornings, horses, a few runners and hikers, and the occasional deer, moose or mountain lion.

The views are stunning in every direction - Mount Timpanogos to the west, Heber Valley & the Uintahs to the east and endless sharp ridges and pine-covered valleys to the north and south - so bring your camera.

Trails up Timpanogos (Primrose Cirque (Aspen Grove), Stewart Falls, Timpooneeke and above Horse Flats) are in wilderness area and no wheels are allowed.

These trails are covered by snow approximately November through April.

The primary trailheads are the summit parking lot, Salamander Flats, Tibble Fork Reservoir, or the Aspen Grove parking lot.
