OverviewThe Nebo Loop is a beautiful scenic road circling Mount Nebo (11,920') from Payson to Nephi. The north (Payson) end has wide bowls filled with quality easy-to-intermediate trails.
On a hot day, enjoy a dip in Payson Lakes (and other slightly more remote and less visited lakes) or splash some water from Benny Creek.Getting ThereFrom the north Payson I-15 exit (the McDonalds/Flying J one), turn south off the highway, continue to the light, turn left (east) and continue to the top of the small hill, then turn right (south) on 600 East/Payson Canyon Road next to the old Peteetneet (sp?) Academy. You're now on the road. Continue till you reach your preferred trailhead.
From the south Payson exit (Wendy's), head east to the top of the hill and go through the light. Take your second right (south) which curves around to the east. Turn right at the stop sign and you're on the road (600 East/Payson Canyon Road).
From Nephi, go east on highway 132 (100 North) for about five miles, then turn up the very steep climb to the summit of the loop.
