OverviewIn the southeast corner of Wyoming between Cheyenne and Laramie lies an impressive network of singletrack. Further west of Laramie are the Snowy Mountains with outstanding high country rides on remote and uncrowded singletrack and fireroads. The riding is fantastic as new trails are being built and the homegrown scene includes one of the areas finest endurance races, the Laramie Enduro.
The area between Cheyenne and Laramie has a deceptive elevation of around 8000 ft. and the Snowies to the west rise up to 12000 ft on Medicine Bow Peak. Rocky outcroppings dot the entire landscape and the best mountain biking trails incorporate these rocks as features in the trail. The jewel of the area is Vedauwoo (though not necessarily for mountain biking,) a unique concentration of these rocky outcroppings that is a hugely popular rock climbing destination, with over 900 climbing routes. As Cheyenne and Laramie are located on Interstate 80, these trails can also serve as a great break for travellers looking to stretch their legs and breathe some fresh air.
