Baldy Summit, with AF Twin Peaks. | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] | |
This photo was taken from the summit of Mt. Baldy, 11,068 feet on August 7, 2011. It is looking south west at American Fork Twin Peaks, the highest points in Salt Lake County at 11,489 feet. Hidden Peak, with the Snowbird Tram at it's summit, sits just under 11K at 10,992 feet in altitude. This was taken after biking up Sugarloaf Road to the pass, then a nice "climb a bike" up Baldy's east class II ridge shouldering the bike. After this photo was taken, the west ridge was taken down to the saddle between Baldy and Hidden, then the switchbacks seen were ridden to the top of Hidden Peak. Soon after I dropped into American Fork Canyon on the left, stopping to check out the Snowbird Tunnel area, then back up to Sugarloaf Pass and down Collin's Gulch to Alta. A great day during the pleasant days of August 2011. One to be remembered. | Image Type(s): Mountain |
