Mark your calendars for Sunday, October 11, 2009. The Hoosier Mountain Bike Association is pleased to announce the 5th Annual Brown County Breakdown - HMBA Epic Ride. Come support the HMBA for our biggest fundraising event, and enjoy an epic ride on beautiful trails within one of the largest and best-preserved contiguous hardwood forests in the Midwest. The ride begins and ends at beautiful Brown County State Park near Nashville, Indiana. We have a full weekend of events planned, so please join us on Saturday, October 10, 2009 as well.Registration and FeesTBARoute OptionsTrail, trail, and more trail. We pack in more sweet singletrack into this event than almost any other mountain bike event around. The 20 mile route is 100% singletrack trail. The other routes, including the 35, 60, 75, and 100 mile routes are 80-90% singletrack trail. Even when it's gravel, it's gorgeous!Bike DemosFree bike demos on Saturday, October 10 from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. from large and small bike manufacturers. Located at the start/finish area at the pool near the North Entrance.CampingGroup tent camping at the start/finish area on Saturday night, October 10, 2009! You'll be able to roll right out of your sleeping bag and hit the trails for only $10 per person. You must pre-register and pre-pay to camp. Space is limited. There is a good chance that we will have RV parking for 2009!FoodFree, gourmet coffee at the pre-registration area on the morning of the event provided by Revolution Bike and Bean. A huge hogroast at the end of the ride with all of the fixin's and trimmin's provided by the legendary Jug's Catering. The menu includes fresh roasted pork that melts in your mouth, fried chicken, baked beans, au gratin potatoes, Brown County fried biscuits and apple butter (how many can you eat?), pasta salad, and ice cold iced tea to wash it all down. Access for friends, family, and non-riders to the amazing Jug's Catering hogroast at the finish. The cost is $15 per person. A limited number of dinners may be available for sale on the day of the event, but we are encouraging people to pre-register for the hogroast to ensure availability.PrizesLimited edition commemorative Brown County Breakdown pint glasses for registered participants that are also HMBA paid members. Prizes and awards for this year's participants. We'll have awards for furthest traveled, youngest rider, oldest rider, coolest retro bike, last finisher, and more! There are tons of other prizes that will be given away randomly to participants. MusicLots and lots of live music featuring Brown County's own Kara Barnard and friends. There will be live bluegrass at the hidden cabin sag stop featured on the 35, 60, 75, and 100 miles routes. There will be live bluegrass and folk at the finish area during the hogroast. We even have some musical surprises up our sleeves, but we're not lettin' on. You'll have to come ride to find out.SAG StopsGreat sag stops provided by Nebo Ridge Bicycles and Bicycle Garage Indy that feature Hammer Nutrition products and lots of snacks and fluids. The main sag stop features a hidden, private cabin in a beautiful wooded valley with live music. It also features free, professional mechanical sag support provided by Joe's Cycles (35, 60, 75, 100 mile routes only).
