Overview
Cap de Bouirex, is a prominent summit of the fore-Pyrenees of the Ariège (central region, french side). 1850m high, but only some 1700 of it can be reasonably climbed up on the bike (the rest can be walked).Panoramic views all around, especially on the massif of Mont Valier (the closest truly alpine peak), and a fantastic atmosphere. A memorable mountain-bike ride in beautiful mountains ! No technical difficulty but some 1600m of accumulated climb.
Two clubs, the one where my father belongs to plus another one from nearby attended this event, and not less than 40 mountainbikers were at this ride ! Only two persons weren't wearing orange or yellow jerseys: me, the "Polak" as they teased me (wearing the MBpost shirt !), and another guy from the region, the "guide" of this trip. His name was also Eric.
