Catway Road is a fireroad in the San Rafael Mountains of Santa Barbara County. The road starts on Figueroa Mountain which is world famous for it's wildflower displays. The road is a roller coaster route out to Zaca Peak, a prominent summit overlooking the wine country of Santa Ynez Valley. The road has amazing views of the San Rafael Mountains, Sierra Madre Mountains, and the Hurricane Deck region.
From the parking area the fireroad skirts the west slopes of Figueroa Mountain trending to be downhill at this point. There are only a few side roads but keep straight. After a few miles the you reach a saddle between Figueroa and some unnamed peaks. You will come across a tree in the middle of the road. Hooking to the far left of the tree is the rest of Catway Road. Take the left and head downhill to Zaca Peak. Halfway down this extension you begin to go uphill again to the end of the road. Zaca Peak is a short steeo brush hike above you on the right.
From the town of Los Olivios head up Figueroa Mountain road to just pass the Figueroa Ranger Station. A little over a half of a mile on your left will be the Catway Road trailhead.
