London 2012 Paralympic Games 29 Aug-9 Sept Alex Zanardi: 45 years of age, after a career as a player in Formula 1 (interrupted by a terrible accident that deprived him of his legs), he managed to win the gold medal in the handbike. The 45 year old former Formula One driver is the new champion of the Paralympic H4 chronometer where he finishes in 24'50 "22, preceding German Norbert Mosandl (25'17" 40) and the Belgian Decleir (25'35 "26). A triumph deserved because it came in a very clear way, since Alex has covered 16 km of the track at a supersonic speed (only driver to go under the wall of the 25 minutes).
