Voted 10/10 | Looks a little frightening, but I'm sure its a secure tough rope, or atleast I hope so. Nicely photographed. Cheers Josh Lewis. | | Posted Jan 1, 2010 12:40 am |

| rustybike | That name seems familiar ... | |
Voted 10/10 | There is a river (which is a white water torrent upstream) that goes by a related name in Quebec. The Batiscan ends it's course with a sigh in the St Lawrence river valley but at first looks very much like the river with rapids you have pictured, the river itself obviously going to some of the higher portions of the Laurentians north west of Quebec city without going into what looks as some more serious mountainous terrain further east...

Although to get back to the point; it is a thrilling moment to cross such a treacherous river on a high wire while crossing your fingers to feel a little luckier even if the tense moments really start once the anxiety sets in...
I forgot to mention, in our neck of the woods (in the vicinity of the town of Parent) sometimes the lifeline across a river also applies to motor vehicule traffic ! There is the odd ferry service to uncover in the woods whereby you pull the barge while on board to get your car across using a related type of lifeline... (The barge obviously is floating...)
I guess that ends my contribution on the matter of thrilling rides across a river on a lifeline ! Mind you, the means of transport seems to have a renewal in terms of popularity if I trust what is to uncover in some tourist brochures ...

Voted 10/10 | I remember when Alessandra did carry her bike over one of those bridges in Pakistan. A very long one close to Passu.
You probably know that bridge Afzal.
She had huge difficulties going back.

| rustybike | A thrilling moment ! | |
Voted 10/10 | A difficult ride to make it to the other side... As for my previous comments; it is no joke , I found a place where you actually have to pull the car on a barge with a lifeline to cross such a river... | | Posted Jan 9, 2010 8:29 pm |

Hasn't voted | Thanks for your comments. I have not doubt about the place you have mentioned. Here in Baltistan, the people use this type of bridge from crossing the river.
