Overview
Czantoria/Čantoryje, despite not the tallest, is one of the few emblematic mountains of the Silesian Beskids, partly due to its huge outlook tower, as well as its ski resort. Shared with Czech Republic and remote from the main Carpathian ridge, its prominency makes it enticing for a visit, both to bikers and hikers. The outlook tower provides stunning panoramas, but only if you have nice weather, as well as few czech coins in your pocket, conditions which both weren't fulfilled during my visit.
There aren't many solution to conqueer Czantoria without walking the bike, however one key to the the door of the fortress exists on the Czech side. This is what this ride aimed to verify. Unfortunately the predicted nice weather turned out to be a foggy cloudy sky, and even a drizzle once riding the ridges... But I bagged Czantoria entierely on the bike ! Winning in the adversity provides a bit of satisfaction anyway ;)
Trail Description
The loop consists in climbing Čantoryje from Nýdek clockwise, reaching first the mountain hut via the asphalted road that later becomes a land rover trail, then the top and the south slope via the border ridge. Beware, near the farms settlement named "Światowid" there is a piece of mandatory walking, the descent is too dangerous there.
The return is made via the sharp downhill of the pass Beskydské sedlo.
From Poland, the best solution consists in doing the same loop while reaching Beskydské sedlo (Przełęcz Beskidek in Polish) from Jawornik, neighbouring village of Wisła. The climb to the pass Przełęcz Beskidek is at least as sharp as the downhill on the other side and require a bit of bike-walk...

Getting There
As explained above, despite our headquartes were in Wisła on the Polish side, Czech republic is a better trailhead and more precisely Nýdek.
