" VIA CRUCIS "  by chaberton

It is an ancient mule track from San Ambrogio di Torino, which exceeds 600 meters in altitude to reach the summit of Mount Pirchiriano where there is the Monastery of St. Michael. It was also called the Via dei Franchi and today is a popular path of faith (along the path you meet the fourteen Via Crucis stations). Downhill then, you have to have absolute confidence in your brakes...

On the banks of the river
Chisola On the banks of the river Chisola  by chaberton

I propose you a pleasant and relaxing trail on the banks of the river Chisola (province of Turin-Piedmont). It is a path that takes place in most of dirt roads, used by farmers to reach their agricultural lands. The river Chisola, given its turbulence during the rainy season, has long been harnessed by a line of banks, which for the most part you can ride with your mountain bike, but not limited to, certain sections can be driven in the middle of river (obviously when the water level is low).

Dyje valley Dyje valley  by Visentin

The Dyje (Thaya in Austria) is an unique area in the whole region. This river has dug an impressive and winding gorge trough a ground mainly made of tough rocks, a surprising observation if we refer to the laws of erosion. Cliffs and rocks overlooking the bed of the river sometimes stand by more than 300m over the bed of the river. The Dyje/Thaya is visited on foot as well as by bike, but only on few spots only, where many bike/pedestrian bridges were made for this purpose. But the river is also best seen from upside....
