Make your own Bender Fender mud guard
by Visentin One of my friends recently bought a brilliant mudguard. It is as simple as can be, made of a bent plastic folio, and attached to the fork just over the front wheel. It is discrete and can be removed at any time. No mention about the negligible weight. So, kind of jealous not to have the same (I have a rear one but in some occasions a front one is cruelly missing), I asked him about the brand in the evening, and found it costs approximately 10E in bike shops. Which isn't a lot, but I thought why the hell giving so much money for something so simple... More |

Bicycles. by chaberton As a child I had a passion for modeling. I built everything (planes, ships, soldiers, etc..) and in all available materials (plastic, metal, acrylic, wood). I am always amazed by the lack of models dedicated to bicycles and their history, few companies dedicated themselves to scaling of these models which are unfortunately almost all failed. This album is dedicated to bicycles and modeling. More |
| | A Restoration of a 1994 Trek 820, and more...
by Wasatchvoyage Flash back nearly two decades. Mountain bikes were just emerging from infancy. Cantilever brakes, rigid forks, and seven speed drive-trains were the rage. I often looked at these bikes in wonder back then with their fat tires, different geometry, and flat handlebars. Being intrigued with them from the start due to my back ground of stomping around the Wasatch Mountain Range in Utah was a give-in. I knew that I had to have one... which took time being a poor college student at that time. More |
| Exilles: The
prison of the Iron Mask.
by chaberton Exilles is a wonderful little village set at eight hundred feet high in the Susa Valley. It occupies a small part of the valley and a plateau is situated halfway between Susa and Bardonecchia. Exilles has preserved its original appearance: houses, streets, woods that surround it, everything seems to have stopped, without that the time and modernity have scratched its charm. Behind this mountain village is an imposing fortress, "the Fortress of Exilles." He frightening proportions, so much so, that the village seen from above looks like a miniature. The fort was rebuilt in the late nineteenth century and since then, has kept all its facilities. More |

Begur by Visentin How good it is to have a direct low-cost airline from snowy Poland to sunny Catalunia. This was the place we picked for a Sylvester break, taking advantage of the low renting prices of empty accommodations on the Costa Brava out of the season (a relative expression, we had a fair 15'C). Several bikes traveled in order to enable us the men (my father and brother in law) to make a family ride, a thing that hadn't happened for couple of years. More |
| Motive power.....electrical! by chaberton An electric motor mounted on the Mountain Bike will surely turn up their noses at many purists, but it is not a process for doing less work, but merely an exercise of electromechanical applied to our favorite vehicle. We say that is a good alternative to the scooter going so fashionable nowadays. More |

Eric's facts sheet and 2013 to-do list
by Visentin Basing on my 2012 experiences (during which I started twelve times !) here is a short calendar of the events I'd like to go, or go again... For sure I won't manage to attend half of them, but this is like a "wish-list". My bag of ideas also for excursions, to make sure I won't forget my dreams and map inspirations ;) More |
| Deuter Trans Alpine 25 by Visentin Few excursions in the autumn during which I had to take a lot of spare clothes, made me realize there was a need for something bigger, keeping all the advantages of the first. And, additionally, looking more like a "normal rucksack" when not cycling (OK, the first was orange...) More |
