Overview
Glenwood and vicinity are home to many quality mountain bike trails. Most of the goods in this area are quality singletracks losing giant ammounts of elevation as they descend from alpine heights to the Colorado River far below. Climbing gravel roads is the norm here, and the rewards are worth it.Getting There
Glenwood Springs lies along Interstate 70 and the Colorado River, in western Colorado. By the highway it is about one and a half hours east from the Utah border, or three hours west of Denver.Red Tape
Several of the finest trails in this area are of threatened access. Wilderness advocates (bless their hearts, they DO care about what they do) are eyeballing several new slices of the Flat Tops above New Castle for designation. Riding these trails and finding out what there is to lose is highly encouraged:Clark Ridge/Mansfield Ditch trail
