Glory | [ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ] |
This glory was captured by the Mount Wilson Solar Tower Cam on December 18th, 2008. I am suspicious that the operators of the camera were aware of the potential, and thus pointed the camera in the correct direction at the correct time. This effect is not visible unless the observer is aligned correctly with the sun behind and the mist or clouds in front. Comments[ Post a Comment ] | Josh Lewis | Beautiful! | |
Voted 10/10 | Looks great! Was this taken on a bike ride? Either way, looks great. Thanks for sharing! Cheers Josh Lewis. | | Posted Dec 19, 2008 8:13 pm |

Hasn't voted | I'd have to agree with you that they knew when to be looking that way. Either way, it is a very nice picture. I didn't realize that the rainbow circle was known as a Glory, learn something new everyday. I tried looking at the tower view from the website, but still too early in the a.m. west coast time. I was able to see some neat shots of the stars though and saw just the slightest hint of sun behind the mountian line. Thanks for sharing it. | | Posted Dec 21, 2008 9:14 am |
