There has been lately few models, more or less professional, of helmet-camera systems without any article or anything dedicated to them.
Attach them here !
A section for each model can be written by anyone below, just drop a message !

The GoPro Helmet Hero

The GoPro Helmet Hero seems to be the reference product when it comes about extreme sport, and not only biking. Its waterproof shell makes it suitable for watersports such as kayaking, surfing, in short anything imaginable as long as the strap system allows attaching it to something.
These straps are particularly convenient for a bike helmet, and the clipping system makes it easy to fit in or remove at any moment when it is needed to check something.

Our member Andy Livo is the lucky owner of one of these. Some of his videos on this page and some more on youtube. Some more wide-angle photos & a video by Albert, another owner, here.

Dcswan's system

"All it is is an old reflector mount that I drilled the hole out on just a little bit to fit the bolt that the camera screws onto to. I got the mount from my LBS, just asked if he had any extra and he just threw it in for nothing. Helps that I've bought 2 bikes from him I sure! I've got the wing-nut there to help put a little pressure on the camera to keep from working loose. I looked at it mounted to my handlebar, then looked at the vents on my helmet, and turned out to be a great fit. Almost as if I intentionally planned it that way!"

Let's go !

Film your epics with this home-made livecam ! You just need to find an M6 screw and some large washers according to your helmet shape. Be careful, the thread of standard camera supports is different than the thread of standard M6 screws.

Otherwise...

Not owning any of these and willing to take more pictures along the way without having to unpack the camera from the rucksack each time ? Get one of such cases, if you have an upper rucksack strap and the case allows to attach it here.

How is this page going to work? Are we writing up reviews/summarys of cameras? I can do the Tachyon XC Micro if you want.

I'll add you the rights on it, the idea would be a chapter for each model. For a start that would be cool if you could add a photo of yours ! thanks

Been meaning to write a review, which was the whole point of unloading the photos, but not had the time. Cheers Eric.

Andy, just write it. You could even add a section about the previous one you had, and if you don't mind I'll put you owner of it, most of the material is yours after all ! Take your time, there is no rush :)

I can see why. That's brilliant. Great trail. Well edited too. Love the music! Which video software did he use?

Good question, I'll ask. The only thing I regret on this video is that I look a bit studious with my map holder, but who doesn't gets lost...
