I can assure you that you would NOT want to be riding when it rains in Mojave National Preserve...because when it rains, it pours! But being out a few minutes AFTER the sky clears up can bring you a special treat.

Voted 10/10 | This rainbow is definitely an example of that. Awesome timing, hombre!! Right place, right time!! Thanks for the pic of the day... in my opinion. | | Posted Dec 13, 2009 1:03 am |

Hasn't voted | Yes it it! I've seen many rainbows in the desert including one in Death Valley but none was so clear as this one. | | Posted Dec 15, 2009 9:49 pm |

Hasn't voted | It most certainly is! Another motivation to go fast is that sunset was under an hour away so not too much time out there! | | Posted Dec 15, 2009 9:50 pm |

Voted 10/10 | To reach that elusive pot o' gold needs riding at light speed - with most rainbows there are a series of connected arcs (red to violet, red to violet) each one behind the other. As one approaches they disappear, leaving the view of the consecutive arch. On rare occasions one can see multiples. I recall seeing 5 or more together. But I just can't pedal that fast! | | Posted Dec 30, 2009 5:37 pm |
