Europe is also having very unusual weather patterns. The predominant Southwesterlies have for months been mostly displaced by cold northerlies, which, consequently, brought volcanic ash. Temperatures are 5C below the norm and little rain so far. Whatever next!

One night it was so cold in the hills that I thought it was February. Mind you, the trees didn't seem to take it too bad. Despite the leaves that had just emerged from the buds nothing deplorable was to observe... This usually isn't the case with adapted species (such as Apples , Peaches , pears ) notwithstanding almonds which in Canada mostly grow on the west coast such as in the Okanagan valley at an unbelievably high latitude because of the very warm coastal current from the pacific...
