Overview

The Middle Spring Trail is generally ridden as a connector between Rodeo "UP" and the Spring Trail, but with the addition of a new stretch of the Rodeo trail, this will likely become known as Upper Rodeo "UP".

Trail Description

The Middle Spring Trail is a short but fairly steep and twisty climb that accesses the Spring Trail in two places (one is actually accessed via a short spur about halfway up Middle Spring). The trail is almost completely enclosed in Gambels Oak, so its one of the few full shade trails in Lambert Park.

Middle Spring isn't super technical, but there are several tight switchbacks that are steep and strewn with embedded rocks making those spots a bit tough.

Getting There

Middle Spring is usually ridden as an uphill by riders who've just completed the climb on Rodeo's Up Trail. It generally serves to carry riders wanting to ride the full, recently extended, length of the Rodeo Down Trail.

When to Bike

Middle Spring is generally rideable year round, but unfortunately, Rodeo and Spring are often muddy after a rain, or when winter temps warm above freezing and the snows melt; and since these are the only two ways to access Middle Spring, it does experience days where its unrideable.
