vwjohnnyGreat ride
Date Biked: Aug 19, 2010
I rode this trail north to south today with a nephew. The BlueGo 21x bus takes you from Carson City and will drop you off on request to the spot you want. We were dropped off just above the Kings Canyon Road trailhead, cost 2 dollars for the ride. A few climbs but nothing steep at all, this time of year a lot of the rail is sandy.
While we saw no one else, lots of evidence of other mtn bikers, horses, dog prints and bear prints. I cant tell the diff between dog and mtn lion prints so Im hoping for dog prints.
The trail is clean but not maintained and gets rockier towards to bottom of the trail, a suspension is a must. The last couple miles are very fast and very rocky.
Most of the trip is a nice calm ride, go fast or peddle slow and enjoy the amazing views

I've ridden this a few times too --- the last downhill is over with too fast, and suspension is mandatory! It's a long climb in hot summer weather....
