| Rode this one a couple times last year from Rock Canyon Campground at 7,000 feet, up to the Kolob Canyon overlook. Hit up Buckley Peak on one of those rides, and also Lion Head Peak further north.
This past weekend I again started at the campground area, rode to the Kolob overlook, carried the bike several hundred vertical feet up the side of the Corral Mountain trail, and hid the bike in some taller brush and aspen trees. Then set out to the summit of Corral Mountain on foot, which turned out to be a nice bushwack from hell after the trail disappeared. After hitting up the summit, getting the bike and back to the overlook, I spent about 20 minutes picking the goathead's out of my shoes and sock to continue the ride back down to the truck at the campground. Gotta love hitting up these peaks this time of year. |
