Old time bridge
One of the old timers still clinging to life along the Gatineau river in the vicinity of Grand Remous. Such old bridges despite having basically disappeared are still to encounter in "la Belle province" and are deemed as favored secret sites for untold romantic encounters and maybe to get away from the rain ! LOL !

my mom and dad would take us on drives in the NE touring the covered bridges. Now that really is old time.

Do they still have many covered bridges in the US NE ? Here in Quebec there must be 50 or so covered bridges left to encounter in just about every corner.

I've seen them on TV. Very nice pieces of work, but have no idea why a bridge needs to be covered. (Ice protection) or just a good place for romance?

Covered bridges are deemed as all season wood structures which have can resist rotting for much longer... Although rumour has it that the bridges themselves were fine places not only to get away from the weather but also the crowds even if motor vehicule traffic made it nearly impossible to find true sanctuairy for those in their quest for bliss...

O.K. ; enough with this nonsense !

To get back to reality; the comments about romantic encounters within such bridges is a hoax to make you laugh !

So, I guess that if I stand under one of these covered bridges, that I should live longer. Quite how I am going to withstand the cold water, is of some concern. Hahaha !!

In the hope of a new romantic encounter, I shall also try standing in the tunnel, and hope for an encounter with the woman of my dreams. Though I suppose that when this occurs, I will awaken only to find that the luscious creature has eluded me.
