Overview The Sernftal in the middle-east of Switzerland is a beautiful aeria for mountainbiking. Many trails from easy till very hard. Elm is the capitol of the valley. It's a small town with many very old wooden houses.
Trail Description It's a very nice trail. The first climb is on tarmac and in the second half very steep (20-25%). The further on gravelroad. The highroad is a very small trail with a beautiful view down on the valley and the surrounding mountains. The downhill is a tarmac road. You can also ride it in the opposite direction. Try to affoid the weekends ! Many hikers on the trail.Getting ThereIt's an hour away from Zürich. It's very easy to find.From Zürich you follow the signs Chur on the highway. Then follow the signs Glarus. In Glarus you follow the signs Sernftal/Elm. A very nice road will lead you to Elm in the heart of the Sernftal. You can also take the train to Glarus and further by bus. The bus will also transport your bike.When to BikeThe best season is from spring till fall. In the springtime and autumn there can be snow on the higher trails. So be carefull ! Images |
