Overview A great 2-4 hr lollipop loop starting on Bell Rock Pathway to Llama to little horse up to Chicken Point at Broken Arrow and or back down Little Horse to Bell Rock Pathway and back to the Bike & BeanTrail Description From the Bike & Bean first charge up with some espresso then head across 179 to the Bell Rock Pathway trail head, from there follow the trail towards Bell Rock. The trail at this point is a old jeep road that climbs slowly around the left side of Bell Rock. Once you reach the top of the climb you may encounter the many people filing up and down the side of Bell Rock. Continue to the right heading north east towards Courthouse Butte with almost no elevation gain or loss. You will come to a large junction of trails head left and you will see two options stay straight heading towards a small summit ahead known as Northern or Little Bell. The trail will split again stay right coming out onto a large slick rock play ground, pick your route down to the lower level to continue on small single track to right "llama trail" no sign. Rip downhill for a short section into a dry wash where the trail splits stay right paralleling the wash. From the wash it is a fun technical climb in and out of the wash. After you come out of a steep tight little climb you will come to a little slick rock area where it seems the trail is lost. Look to the left heading up and you should see the trail continues to climb finishing at another slick rock playground with two prominent boulders. This is a great place to take a quick break after the climb. After the break start following the flowing ups and downs with the occasional techy wash. Two miles or so the trail splits, left is a bail out back to Bell Rock pathway. Right to continue. Another 1.5 miles or so to the intersection with the Little Horse trail. Right if you would like to climb towards Broken Arrow, Chicken Point or left to bomb down really good tech section, one portion of this decent sends many OTB:p Little Horse brings you back to Bell Rock Pathway, take a left for a leisurely 4 miles back to the Bike & Bean about half way back you will see the Templeton Trail(can be added into loop) on the right.
