Overview THE PIG FARM TRAILS:
Located about 12 miles from Kalispell, MT. Kuhn Wildlife Sign. You're almost there!
Appropriately named due to their location just to the North of the Farm To Market Pork farm. When I was a kid my Dad always said that smelling the pigs on the farm was the "smell of money" when we took them to market, but now they just stink. Plan on smelling the "MONEY" if the wind is blowing from the South.
The Pig Farm Trails offer challenges for all levels of riders. From oxygen depleting climbs to sustained single-track downhills riding options are endless. Be carefull to mark your route. It is easy to get turned around here (read lost). A maze of roads and trails can create confusion and it is located in forested rolling hills so use caution. This writer has ridden there for a number of years and is still finding new trails to ride that are both challenging and enjoyable.
Directions to the Trailhead:
From Downtown Kalispell travel North on Highway 93 towards Whitefish to West Reserve Drive (just beyond Lowe's). Turn left (West) and travel approximately 7 miles to Farm To Market Road (the first stop sign) and turn right (North). Drive on FTMR past Farm To Market Pork and the Kuhn Wildlife Reserve sign to where the Pig Farm Trails (no official sign just a gated road on the left side) are located on the left (West side of the road on the "S"-curve. Park on the left side of the road. Don't block the gate. Please Note: There are many gated roads on the East side of the road but only two on the West side. Trails can be accessed from both of those gates, but the first gate is where the trails officially begin.
