New and (improved??) music thread.

So, I can't find the music thread and I think it must have been lost among all of the spam recently. So, here's V.2.

My first submission: Neko Case. For those unfamiliar, there are multiple reasons to listen to this talented songwriter.

Reason 1: Star Witness, Ghost Wiring

Reason 2: Stone Cold Hottie!

I've never had music on the bike. For safety I wouldn't use earphones on the road. Otherwise it's occassional music in the car. Some German Techno is great for a fast drive - raises my senses and reactions. Classic stuff just doesn't come through in a car, unless you have an expensive, plush vehicle. Though I most prefer the sound of the exhaust note of my car. After driving a boring rental car for vacations and then I get back in my 6-cylinder with its lovely raughty exhaust note, it's sheer bliss as it resonates along the transmission tunnel and out the back. Truth is, I just love to blast the s**t out of those I've just passed

Ha ha ha. Well spotted. I must admit that I had the great pleasure to drive on Germany's Autobahns. 145mph maxed out, though 110mph, sheer bliss with the right car. 975miles non-stop 3 times.

I like that. Her voice reminds me of Debbie Harry.

Since we're on the subject of punk(ish), here's some X for your Saturday morning hangover!

This is seriously classic stuff that I still employ on the dance floor yet have striven to overcome as a parent and husband. Yet as I falter and relapse back to my old self, I have also moved forward... a little. That evidence came quickly as I emerged my musical tastes towards John Prine, Jackson Browne, Jerry Garcia, and Pink Floyd.

Check out this then new song that had a gripping effect on my mind's ear. It's from a concert in 1994 that was the first and only time I have ever employed Pay Per View.

Oh man, Loudon is the best.

For all you hep-cats out there, I've been revisiting the Beastie Boys recently. In particular their sophomore effort, Paul's Boutique. Somewhat derided upon first being released, it's been given critical reconsideration over the years and granted "classic" status in retrospect. So, in honor of the Beasties, why don't you Shake Your Rump

Time for another musical interlude. One upper and one downer.

First, some Wire. Map Ref ... If you don't know these guys, investigate. GREAT band.

Second (don't listen if you're depressed). Ted Hawkins, Sorry You're Sick. This guy could fill his songs with pathos like no one else.

I find the opening of this, nearly hypnotic. Music is good too.
