Jogging commute from work to home tonight. The last one before flying to Crete !
No biking planned there but hopefully there will be few interesting bike-related photos to post :)

I took a big cycle trip to Crete in 2007. Like 11 days of 65 - 100 km each. My first time doing a trip on narrow tyres. It's a great place to cycle but the nude beaches aren't bad either.

Looks like I haven't put up any of the photos here. I don't have many with the bike. My buddy just likes to GO! Not spend time fooling with the camera. I'll put one up in a bit. Monster descent, like over 1,500 meter smear. Pic doesn't nearly do it justice.

Have Fun!

Juno, do you really run a half marathon in one and half hour ?[/quote]

:D :) :P

It's taken three years to get there. Keep up the great work. Stubborn determination and
a good work ethic (as well as an improved diet) will get you places that leave others asking the same thing.

If anyone can do this, you can, E!!!

I ran a 10k this morning in around 1:05, which is good for me. The fourth time for this event, the Scotland Run. But, I'm still new at running.

I didn't buy the kilt when I was in Scotland 4 years ago, but I did wear full BraveHeart FacePaint.

Restarted the running again, since chores overload. Legs pretty good, though lungs shrank a bit. Now I'm going to keep up with it.

First Parkway ride of the season with the family. We decided to try and get about 20 miles in this morning... and my wife's brand new pink beach cruiser decided to have the rear hub fail. We were about 8 miles from the cars at the trailhead at this point. Fortunately we were pretty close to a convenience store, which I stopped by and bought a couple set of yellow bungee cords, as seen in this picture. Tied together, I was able to pull the bike trailer with the baby and my wife on her bike back to the trailhead. Decent workout pulling all that and going against the wind in this one...

Once getting home I tore the hub apart and found that someone had installed the hub incorrectly when it was built at the store I bought it from.

Still unsure if I can get as low as 1'30 but I'll stick to your recommendations Juno !

AFS, I always wondered if you are really 63 like written in your profile ! Even if you don't run as fast as Juno, respect !

Back to running again, after the abundance of chores. Surprisingly, the stiffness in upper legs had gone. Longs ways to go before reaching a respectable distance, though believe it won't be too long. 3 miles would be a respectable and sufficient distance for getting back to Badminton. And then the real work starts :D .

So are you still in Crete V?

http://www.dailyfinance.com/article/strikes-halt-greek-ferries-before/880748/

PIRAEUS, Greece -Ferry services to Greek islands and nearby Italy were halted Tuesday by a 48-hour strike that left thousands of islanders stranded and disrupted holidaymakers' plans at the start of the country's vital tourism season.

Organised to coincide with the Orthodox Easter this Sunday, the strike was called after The Panhellenic Seamen's Federation, PNO, failed to strike a deal with the government over cuts to its members' pension and healthcare schemes. The PNO also claims that many of its members have been left unpaid for months.

The ferry system connects the Greek mainland with its dozens of populated islands dotted around the Aegean and Ionian seas, where thousands of passengers were scheduled to travel on the two days of the strike.

Flought back yesterday evening. I'll post some pics within the next days. No hiked mountains neither biked, but stunning vistas on the southern skyline with Levka Ori providing a strong impression.
Where was this french island ? I'm not surprised. Instead of asking how many days per year french workers are striking, foreigners should rather ask how many days they do work :D

Guadeloupe in the Caribbean. I was there with a friend in 2008. We got roadblocked in a town for 3 days. It's a Region de France.

So good you got off Santorini in time.

Well, that's is a remote island indeed :)
Not Santorini, Crete :) Seen strikers there, but not ferries, retired people.

Been full of energy all day. Okay, no biking or running but heavy duty gardening with power mowing and power raking for 3 hours non stop. 5 cubic metres of dross, and still full of beans. Not sure why  But I like it.

I was checking that out when you posted that one, and remembered it when her bike broke down... Funny how things work out like that.

I was bored last night, being on-call for work and not being able to get very far from my house and work vehicle. So I made another movie, this one is of that ride on the Parkway trail that day. Notice my lack of speed in the latter half of the video... lol. 8)

I'm really getting attached to this Hardrock for some reason...

WV, nice outing. Your kids balance well, and the youngest is non-stop energy.
