Well. Just a Wow:

London Is Rocking - The Diamond Jubilee Concert

This is an awesome, all-star lineup midst a spectacular stage centered around the Victoria Monument. Truly a concert for the people. 10s of thousands line the length of the Mall. It's just one big street party here ! Rock on...

UK transit of Venus is visible only during Wednesday dawn. Going to be lucky if it's clear and high enough in the sky. But I'll try. It's 105 years until the next transit. Last chance. Lucky I saw the one in 2005.

PS, don't look at the Sun directly. Project the Sun onto a piece of white paper, through the binoculars. Wear shades 8) .

No, I wasn't talking about the chick's legs on the left. If I was, I would point out these power boosters for comparison!!!

Wow ! Telescopes hit the bigtime.

ESO, the European Southern Observatory give the go-ahead for the World's biggest ever reflecting telescope. At 39 metres (cluster of mirrors) it will the dwarf the giant Keck Telescope in Hawaii.

The resolving power is expected to reveal individual planets orbiting distant stars. I wonder if it can resolve footprints on the Moon 8) .

Yeah. Look at the scale of the cars in relation to the multi-mirror. Looks like each mirror is still about the size of a car.

The way it works is that each mirror is micro controlled to retain the overall set as an effective single mirror. The adjustments are continual, quite fast, but at the same time, minute movements. That's a clever piece of software. In some telescopes, each individual mirror is also continually flexed, so as to retain its individual curvature - to within microns

This will be a "must see"

Hey, we all want to eat  I spent some time playing Badminton tournaments at Manhattan Beach area. I remember not having enough to eat, due to lack of funds during my tour. A lot of times, I looked through the windows at all the great food and feeling famished.
