Lance Armstrong

Postby Visentin » Sat Aug 25, 2012 8:52 am

What do you think of it ?
Despite I don't like doping products and doped athletes, I think it's gone too far with Armstrong and I find it totally ridiculous, as absurd as the USADA isn't entitled to remove past titles, the decision belongs UCI.
At one point, a normal man finds it easier to spare his nerves and even if he isn't clean (who was during all these years in cycling ?), I totally support him.
Besides, another good news ! Lance Armstrong reads MBPost. I'm sure he's a hidden member ! Look, he's riding MTB and running trail-marathons ;)

Only an athlete himself knows if they are truly undoped.

Though it seems hard for some organisations to accept that Lance has achieved what he has by extreme hard work.

I will always remember an interview with Fausto Coppi in the fifties.

To the question: "Are you aware of the use of performance-enhancing drugs in cycling", his answer was: "We all take something, I for one, one that says that does not take anything .... is the first to do so!

Coppi was surrounded by all the competitors of the Tour of Italy at that time, no one has opened his mouth.

Once a medium french cycler of Tour de France declared to the press: "all competitors take doping products, without no one would complete such event".
He was reviled by all the world cycling community during the next days and weeks, he didn't race anymore in his life after that.
Armstrong was certainly doped, the rest certainly too. On equal conditions I believe the one who manages to be above the rest has more talent.

It is just the in thing to question Lance and his acheivements. Should we really believe what drug takers and known liars are saying? No. Lance has had enough of the hassle over the past ten years. That is not an admission of guilt. All his samples have been negative!! Is this a witch hunt? Yes. Do the USADA have the authority to strip Armstrong of his titles? No. So what is this all about? All those who built up Lance now want to knock him down. They hate a winner. Its a sick world.

People are already questioning Bradley's achievements.

A damn bike good mechanic in a small town I lived in a few years back could have gone pro on the European tour. The reason he didn't he once told me? "You have to dope if you are going to succeed."

Even the tour organizers will tell you its okay to be dirty... to an extent. That may be higher for some drugs then others but its apart of the history of the sport and always will be.

Check this out. Chicago Marathons FaceBook Page gettin' hate for saying they wouldn't let Lance run.

You see so many organizations FB Pages get trashed like this now. I don't think they'll be on Face Book in 10 years.
