Route verte #2

[ Sizes: Orig | Large | Med | Small | Thumb ]
Route verte #2
In the vicinity of Lac Saguay further north along the route verte # 2 which departs from the metropolitain area of Montreal, passing within the Laurentian hills to ultimately attain the Abitibi region some 300 miles further north. The path is on the roadside embankment north of Mont Laurier but a large segment of over 150 miles is a trail which passes within woodlands often presenting the most amazing scenery including partly conceiled views of valley floors some distance below the path

Once in downtown Montreal you take that bike path attainable from the bus terminal (great if you're arriving from the outside on a bus !) and just continue north..for over 150 miles...

Although the fun actually starts on the outskirts of St Jerome (which is about 30 miles further north ...). You first start out on a well groomed dirt trail which gradually goes into the hills. At the half way point the dirt trail gives way to..ashphalt which is also great for those roller bladers which need to skate to the moon alone in the woods .

If not crossing the road ahead, then he's lurking there in the trees. Wouldn't catch me out there at night. Though seems somehow familiar. Hmmm !

To be honest, in knowing that any wild animal is a potential threat even if in essence this is a tall bipedal ape with twice our cranium capacity that seems more curious than belligerent, caution is adviseable ...
