Overview

View Forrest Hollow in a larger map

Glenwood's signature ride. Big elevation gain, heart attack climbs, ripping through the woods, big banked turns on the downhill.

Also called Forest Hollow. Scout trail is really the name for the final drop into town. Alternate routes of unsecured access (shown in red) exist across the face of Lookout Mountain

Trail Description

Head south out of Glenwood on the Rio Grande bike path. At Buffalo Valley/Beaujo's, cross the highway to Red Canyon Road. Climb Red Canyon Road to a top out in ranch land. Hang a left onto Cty Rd 120 1/4 mile after topping out. Climb switchbacks on dirt until a parking area/ohv trailhead on the right. Follow jeep roads into a drainage, up it to a saddle. Go left on a faint doubletrack just after the saddle. A short awesome downhill leads to a left on to singletrack that must be made by a pond. This singletrack contours over Glenwood Canyon and No Name seemingly forever. Eventually it meets other trails high above Glenwood. Follow the obvious good trail toward the river and the singletrack will get better and better all the way to town.

Getting There

Start and end in Glenwood Springs, CO

When to Bike

Usually free of snow/mud by Memorial Day and good into a dry November.
