Sunset gravel road eastern Abitibi
Sunset on a gravel road deep within the wilderness in eastern Abitibi. The area being relatively far from civilisation situated within rolling hills some of which have the feel of mountains inspires forbidding dreams of lost conquests exploring the unknown with it's own surprises lurching within the woods such moments of discovery being remenescent of what the first explorers must have felt travelling within hills that have seldom been visited.

Despite the presence of lumber companies the region is lesser known and thus invites explorers in their quest for the new and forbidding from unknown hilltop vistas to deserted beaches within dense forest cover.

Yep. And in the dark in the middle of nowhere it is SCARY ! Imagine having a monstruous Gigantopithecus ape trying to get friendly with you ! I thus definitely enjoy the sight of a nice secure cabin . Unfortunately cabin owners don't see things the same way... In Europe things are different cabin owners acknowledging that cabins serve an essential purpose for those which take a ride on the wild side discovering places that are relatively far beyond the reach of civilisation...Thus many cabins are open for everyone such cabins providing essential shelter from the elements... Here things can be a little more preoccupying considering the unknown lurching within the depths of the forest at night including cougars which were sighted as recently as the 1990's in the area...
