The glaciar lake of Plešné JezeroGlaciar lakes for an old range that barely exceeds thousand of meters ? No, we are not dreaming. They are five or six of such. This one is the most famous. Located under Plechý, summit that separates Czech, Austria and Germany, "Plöckensteinsee" as it is also called in Goethe's language is a typical lake resulting from glaciar erosion that dug a corrie in this range mostly made of granite.
Unfortunately the place looked much better few years ago when the bark beetle did not yet ravage the whole area.
A curiosity not to miss on the way: the Schwarzenberg Canal, linking Danube and Elbe - more here !
