From the top of Mount Chaberton (3130 m.), You can watch the spectacle of the last glaciers of the Western Alps.
On the background the beautiful "Barre des Ecrins" (Hautes Alpes-France).
Unfortunately Us, people of Piedmont, we can only see them with binoculars.

Voted 10/10 | The glaciers certainly are disappearing, reducing in size every season.
Though it is not the first time it has happened. Even before humans added more greenhouse gases to the atmosphere and stripped the great forests, the variance in Earth's orbit around the Sun made ice ages come and go.

I fear that in the European continent sooner or later it will be nothing left!
But...it is sad to know that in a few years, our grandchildren to see a glacier: or look at our photos, or they will go to find the grandchildren of Afzal.

I reach Chaberton summit with MB, using the old military road (side Nort-East); then i descent (by feet)the side South of the mountain, direction Petit Vallon.
I take this image 50 meters below the summit, where there are these colorful pinnacles how foreground.
It is a mountain that i know well (i could say stone by stone (O:)

From Left to Right: Sommet des Bans, Mont Pelvoux, Pic Coolidge, Barre des Ecrins and Pointe de la Gran Sagne.
Are the five thousand meters further south of the Alps and are truly a spectacle.
From anywhere you look at them.
