OverviewThe Meyer's Homestead trail lies within Boulder Open Space and Mountain Parks land, just west of Boulder, Colorado. It is a quick out and back near the very popular Walker Ranch loop that makes a good after work ride or a warm-up for Walker. The trail is doubletrack and singletrack trail with a pretty good tread, rocky at times. It's a great trail the beginning mountain biker who's ready to leave the boring trails of the plains behind and try something slightly harder.
Trail DescriptionBegin at the Meyer's Homestead trailhead. Follow the signed trail down the dirt jeep road. You'll pass an old cabin on the left (the Meyer's Homestead?) and begin climbing. The trail switches to singletrack. You'll pass an intersection with a jeep road on the right. Go straight on the trail. You'll cross an meadow area and reach a fence and posted private property. This is the end of the trail. Turn around and return to the trailhead.

From the intersection of Baseline and Broadway, travel west on Baseline for 7.5 miles, up and over Flagstaff Mountain, to the Meyer's Gulch trailhead. The trailhead is on the right, just before the Walker Ranch trailhead.
When to BikeMeyer's Homestead can be ridden year-round, snow permitting. I saw a huge black bear in the spring of 2007... wildlife is plentiful here. |
