OverviewLittle Face is an intermediate (blue square) cross country trail at Hartland Bike Park. It is loose single track with some rock and root obstacles. There is some minor climbing. Can be enjoyable ridden in either direction, although probably better North to South. One of the staple trails of Hartland!
Trail Description Ian and Mike infront of the the final rock garden on Little Face. Little Face can be ridden in either direction, starting at Centerfold or Emergency Two. The trail has a few short and easy climbs. The majority of the trail is loose singletrack winding pleasantly through the forest. Hartland's signature rock gardens can be found at points along the trail, the most challenging being the one closest to Centerfold, which is bumpy bedrock.
From Little Face, alternative lines can be taken turning off onto Rolly Rige, Crazy Horse and Inventive (all single black diamonds).Getting There Start of Little Face from Emergency Two From the Hartland Road Parking area, follow the track into the park. Follow the main pathway right of the map kiosk to the Regional Trail. Little Face can be ridden in bother directions.
To access the North end, turn right on the Regional Trail. Follow it past Pooh's corner and turn onto Centerfold. Continue steeply up Centerfold until you reach the intersection marker on the left for Little Face.
To access from the South end, turn left onto the Regional Trail. Follow it until you reach Emergency Two, which you then turn right onto. Follow the steep fireroad up Emergency Two until you reach the intersection marker for Little Face on your right. Enter the first shallow climb of the trail and follow the obvious trail until you reach Emergency One (alternate access/descent, green square). At Emergency One cross directly for the second part of Little Face. When to BikeLittle Face can be ridden year round due to Victoria's mild (but rainy) climate. In winter, or after prolonged rain, the trail may be a bit muddy, although the prevalence of bedrock and hard packed trails helps to minimize the mud. Images |
