Overview

The Regional Trail is the wide dirt road used to access the lower areas of Hartland Bike Park.

Trail Description

The Regional Trail looks to be the remains of an old fire road. It is about one car width wide along most of its length. The trail is hard packed gravel for the most part, with sections of loose rock. There are a few steeper sections, but nothing ridiculous. The Regional Trail is the main access trail to reach each area of the park.

Getting There

Follow the directions for getting to Hartland Bike Park. From the parking area (right side of Hartland Road), cross the road and follow the small path beside the chainlink fence until it opens up at the terrain park. The wide road to the left of the shelter containing a map and information on the park is the Regional Trail. About 200m down the trail it opens up and goes left or right, depending on which area of the park you wish to access.

When to Bike

The Regional Trail can be ridden year round due to Victoria's mild (but rainy) climate. In winter, or after prolonged rain, the trail may be a bit muddy, although the prevalence of bedrock and hard packed trails helps to minimize the mud. This trail could probably be ridden in sections even in the snow.
