OverviewAn all day epic on the Colorado Trail, this trail has a little bit of everything. The riding is only overshadowed by the scenery. Many options exist, including looping from Kenosha Pass to Jefferson Creek and back or going over Georgia Pass (at almost 12,000 feet elevation) to Breckenridge.
Trail DescriptionLike the majority of the Colorado Trail, the riding isn't overly technical. The majority of the trail is buff singletrack that has great flow. There are some technical sections, mainly towards the Kenosha side but most are brief.
There are a number of stream crossing, many with bridges. Several of the bridges are wide enough most riders will cross without hesitation, but there are several narrow bridges that will have most riders hiking across.
The climbing is long and sustained, but the views are exceptional. If going over Georgia Pass to Breckenridge, you'll be rewarded with an incredible rocky downhill that will have everyone smiling. Getting ThereKenosha Pass is located SW of Denver on Highway 285 near the town of Fairplay. When to BikeDue to the high elevation, the biking season is rather short. Typically becomes rideable in June and will remain open through October, although this varies from year to year.Elevation ProfileThis is an elevation graph of a ride from Kenosha Pass to Breckenridge. Due to the adverse weather, we opted to bail out on Tiger Rd instead of continuing on the Colorado Trail, which would add many more miles of singletrack and another major climb.
