Overview

The Ridge trail is the aorta of Alpine Loop trails - begin here and either finish at Forest Lake or turn off on Pine Hollow, Mud Springs, Tibble Fork, Deer Creek South Fork, Mill Hollow or several others to the east.

It's relatively easy with relatively good traction and only a few rocky areas or semi-steep climbs.

Views from the ridge are gorgeous looking back at Timpanogos or down to the north or south.

Trail Description

West End: park at the Alpine Loop summit parking lot. The trail exits to the east, crosses the road 30' later, and continues east.

Mid Section: go east down the Cascade Springs road about 3 miles till you see a gravel road going north (left) on a right corner. Follow that road all the way up to a hilltop overlook to take the trail west and back to the summit parking lot, or stop at a clearing with a map/sign to take the trail east toward Forest Lake.

I'll get some GPS data eventually...and if you use a GPS in Utah County, you may want to set your datum to WGS84 and use Degrees Minutes.decimal so search and rescue's GPS' will match if you ever happen to need them!

"This is blood for blood and by the gallon. These are the old days, the bad days, the all-or-nothing days. They're back! There's no choice left. And I'm ready for war."   --Marv, Sin City
