Overview

Tibble Fork is my favorite trail of the Alpine Loop with good terrain, fantastic scenery, medium distance, etc.

Whether it's medium or hard aerobically, however, depends on whether you're going up or down!

There are some semi-steeps, a few rocks and roots, a few spots with exposure and a couple tight switchbacks. Also watch for motorcycles and horses and share the trail!

Start at the Ridge Trail (summit parking lot) and continue for about 2 miles (skip other trail turn offs - keep right) and you'll see the sign to turn left. A right turn at this point leads down the Deer Creek South Fork trail.

For the hard way, start at Tibble Fork Reservoir (go up American Fork Canyon and turn left at the only left turn before the Cascade Springs turn off (other than a pair of camping areas higher up). Cross the dam and you're staring at the trail. Go up and right.

When you reach the top, you can turn around or pick any number of wonderful trail options to get back to your car.
