OverviewThis ride gives the rider an excellent sampling of the upper part of the Boise Foothills with widely varied terrain. The ride starts in the bald, sagebrush covered lower foothills and just before reaching the summit of the ride, the trail enters into pine, fir and aspen trees.
This ride also offers excellent views of the city of Boise, ID (elevation approx: 2,500 ft.) and reaches a maximum elevation of about 6,086 at the top of Eaglson Summit.Trail DescriptionThe trail starts at the upper parking area on Bogus Basin Road (refer to the Boise Foothills page for more info on parking). The first half (RED) of the trail from Corrals Trail (Tr. 31) to the end of Hard Guy Trail (Tr. 33) is all singletrack and some sections of very primitive double track. This leg of the trail has some soft sand, and a little bit of rock on the upper end of the trial.
The second leg (BLUE) of the trail from Boise Ridge Road to Scott's Trail (Tr. 32). This is all doubletrack and runs the hazard of meeting an ATV on the road. Don't let it fool you though, despite the fact that this is a dirt road, it is still a fun ride...fast and very rutty in places which makes for a good adrenaline rush at times.
The last leg of the trail (YELLOW) is from Scott's Trail (Tr. 32) back onto Corrals Trail (Tr. 31) where you ride on the same type of terrain as the first leg.

Drive up the road a few miles and watch for the only obvious developed parking area on the right side of the road. Use the map above for detailed directions. When to BikeThe Boise Foothills are open all year. However the best time to bike is March through October. March and October both run chances of wet trails so be mindful to not harm the trails if you run into these conditions...if they're too wet, just wait a couple days, the soil is so sandy it dries very, very quickly.
