Overview

The Black Forest is a wonderful region for mountainbikers. There are many signed trails. The mountain Schauinsland is the home-mountain of the capitol of the Black Forest, Freiburg. On this mountain you have a nice view on the Swiss Alps when the weather allows it.

Trail Description

This route is an easy training route. You ride mostly on gravelroads. The climbs are not to long and not to steep. Carefully for hikers. Drive slowly when you past them.

Getting There

From Basel or Frankfurt : take the highway A5. Follow the signs Freiburg. Take exit Bad Krozingen. Then follow the signs Staufen. Follow the main road through the valley. At the end of the valley in a hairpin curve you turn left past a view houses. This is a small road going up. There are several places where you can park your car.

When to Bike

You can bike allthrough the year. Maybe there can be snow in winter.
