Overview This Google Earth snapshot is not exact but shows the approximate route of the Color Country trail.
Note: I will be adding photos to all Brian Head related pages in spring 2008 when the mountain biking park re-opens.
Color Country is a novice to intermediate trail located at Brian Head Mountain Bike Park. It starts at the top of the chairlift and descends 6 miles to the base of the hill, a total of about 1,320 feet.
This trail offers great views of Cedar Breaks National Monument and the Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area.

Color Country
Novice to Intermediate – 6 Miles
Color Country heads south from the top of the chairlift, with stunning views of Cedar Breaks National Monument, and the red rock vistas of Ashdown Gorge Wilderness Area. As you descend the trail, you will pass an alpine pond in a lush meadow, further down you will ride along the edge of a small reservoir and into the forest. After riding out of the trees, you will follow the ridge, back into the ski area boundary as it snakes down the mountain, returning you to the bottom of the lift.
Here is a map of the route. Free maps are available on-site.
Getting ThereAt the top of the chairlift head south. When to BikeSpring through Fall. Summer and fall are best. Spring can be a great time if it isn't too wet. Summer thunderstorms are common and temperatures can be cool even in July and August. Images |
