OverviewThis excellent singletrack trail loops around a plateau that sits in the Deer Creek Canyon. This is not the trail for you if you are looking for tons of jumps, or if you are wanting a really technical ride. This is, however the perfect trail if you want a really scenic ride on pretty smooth trail that is close to Denver. This trail is also probably the least utilized trail in South Valley Park, which means you have to worry less about hikers and horses than on the other trails
Trail DescriptionThis singletrack trail can be accessed via several different points. The best is via the Rattlesnake gulch trail on the northern side of Deer Creek Canyon Road. Head up Rattlesnake Gulch for .3 mile. At this point the loop is counter-clockwise. In the late spring, right after the trail opens keep your eyes open for elk that may be remaining in the area. The trails is hilly, and very scenic.
Getting ThereTake C-470 to the Wadsworth exit. Head south on Wadsworth for a very short distance and turn West onto Deer Creek Canyon Road. Follow Dear Creek Canyon Road (turn left at the fork after about 1.5 miles) for about 5 miles. The parking lot is on the left hand side of the road immediately after Grizzly Drive
