There are several spots to catch the trail. Some parts are not yet developed and may not be identified as the BST. From south to north:

- Hobble Creek Parkway. As you exit the canyon, head north along Canyon Road (let me know if anyone knows of an actual *trail* at this point) and continue north till you can catch the dirt road a ways above McDonalds on SR 75 (the north Springville exit).

- Slide Canyon (the Y hike). Turn off 900 East onto 820 North. Continue up Apple and wind up and east, then south to a multi-tiered parking lot.

- Rock Canyon. Go north from just above the parking lot (this direction quickly turns into a construction area, then hits a road. It may continue north somewhere beyond that), or head up the paved trail (keep right) for 75 yards to ride south.

- Orem Water Treatment Plant. Head up Cascade Road (I think) just below Orem 1600 North and 800 East. From the lower paved parking lot (one level below the gun range), go north. (Note: there's a drinking fountain here.) From here to Dry Canyon is the most beautiful part of the trail.

- 1810 North and approx 900 East. Reach this from Skyline Drive (catch it a block west of the east end of 1600 North). Turn east (right) up 1810 North, stop in the cul de sac and ride up the steep pavement, then go either direction.

- Dry Canyon parking lot. Take Dry Canyon Road from the corner of Orem 2000 North (Lindon 200 South) and Skyline Drive. Drive up the dirt road to the parking lot and go south. Some roads continue north, but I think they all climb significantly up the foothills and don't continue along the shoreline.

When to Bike

Anytime, though sections of the trail turn into that really sticky mud that can add 25 pounds to your bike and block up your brakes within five feet of forward motion. Put your feet down and gain another ten pounds each!
