Overview

Spring is a semi-loop trail. It can be combined with Rodeo Down (reviewed separately) to make it into a 2 mile loop.

Trail Description

It features a longish climb (for a valley trail) that gets progressively steeper as you approach the summit. This climb is not technically challenging, but it is a good workout.

The climb is followed by a fast moderately technical downhill. While the trail gains more elevation than it loses on the downhill, it is still plenty fun, with some fast swoopy turns.

Getting There

Spring is generally accessed near the northern end of the Middle Trail (see separate review). If you want to ride it backwards (not as much fun, but featuring even more challenging climbs). It can be accessed from the Rodeo Up Trail by making a left just before Up crosses Down (see Rodeo Review).

When to Bike

Spring Trail is the only trail at Lambert Park that is unrideable for any significant period during the winter. Much of the trail is shaded and on a north facing slope so it can be either snowbound or muddy for several weeks in winter.
