Overview

Little Horse usually ridden as part of a loop with Llama and Bell Rock Pathway or a bigger loop including Mystic and Broken Arrow Trails. Little Horse alone is a short climb but challenging in places it ends at Broken Arrow which made Pink Jeep famous.

Trail Description

As a point to point or out and back from the Little Horse Trail head off of Hwy 179 head south on Bell Rock Pathway for a 1/4 mile untill you see a old jeep road on your left, this is Little Horse. From here you will be heading up a wash NE and a good grade with some challenging technical spots, one spot is not passable going up (going down this section kicks ass:P ). Once the climb tops out stay right. After a minute you will see the Llama trail come in on your right and then the Chapel Trail(Super Rocky No Fun!!) comes in on your left. Continue climbing as the trail becomes more technical one more impassable chute (wait until you go down sweet). You will be surrounded by slick rock walls on either side of you and as the climb begins to top out the trail bends left where chances are you will see Pink Jeeps everywhere. Chiken Point....the point the Jeeps chicken out....go no further. This is a great photo place and awsome playground. The Broken Arrow Trail or Jeep Rd. can take you further along or return the way you came. Going down Little Horse once again kicks ass.

Getting There

From the "Y" take 179 south 3.5 miles to a paved turnout and marked Little Horse trailhead parking on the left.
