OverviewBig Park Loop is a combination of Bell Rock Pathways, Courthouse Butte and Big Park Trails. A great training loop or trail for beginners that would like a little more than a road, don't get me wrong though this loop is great fun. There are great options off of the trail and one of my favorite 1 mile sections of single track within the loop(maybe because I know it so well and can go WFO but you could ride one lap to know the trail then let it rip).
Trail Description Starting at the Bell Rock Pathway Trailhead near the Bike & Bean ride North on Bell Rock Pathway for a 1\2 mile make a right onto the signed junction with the Courthouse Butte trail. Follow this for just over a mile not turning on any spur trails you will eventually drop into a slick rock wash stay right across the wash to continue on Big Park Trail or you can continue up the wash on Courthouse Butte which has some great playgrounds the trail eventually hits a wilderness boundary. Continuing on Big Park you make a short climb to flat then the best part a gradual down hill that you can build awesome speed on, let it rip! As you start descending you will encounter a double water bar built with rocks you can jump it or slow down but immediately after you will make a right continuing flying done the path to a small climb to a flat section. At the end of the flat make another right that descends into a wash, short but sweet then climb back out of the wash and make a right to connect back to Bell Rock Pathway and your car.Getting ThereFrom the "Y" in Sedona drive south on Hwy. 179 for 6.2 mi to the Bell Rock Pathway Trail Head signed with a "?" make a left into the lot.
