Overview

This is the other part of the connecting trail from FR 543 to the Colorado Trail. It is about .5 miles farther west than Shinglemill, although the two trails meet uphill about 1 mile from the CT. This trail is slightly less steep than Shinglemill due to its slightly longer length.

Trail Description

Fast, broken PPG track mingling with some dirt. Exclusively singletrack from 543 to the CT. This trail is slightly more shaded and treed than Shinglemill. Technically easy, the only hard spots are the low points at drainages, and dealing with the loose terrain. They are both scenic trails. Super fun descent, but you have to earn the uphill.

Getting There

Take FR 543 from the FS station in about 3.8 miles. You can also descend this trail from the CT (approx 2.7 miles in from the pay parking lot). The two trails split about 1 mile to the north of the CT.

When to Bike

See other info. Mid-day heat, little shade, little moisture.
