Overview

Buck Gulch is a connecting trail that connects PVROSP to the Buffalo Creek biking area. You can also park off of FR 552 at an alternate TH and ride east from there.

Trail Description

The usual fast singletrack composed of decomposed PPG and occasional dirt. This trail is fairly steep, and can be a bit of a butt-kicker to start off a bike ride. I usually ride it either first (heading uphill into the Buff Creek area, or last, as a descent back to the car at the PVROSP TH. It is not a technical trail at all.

Getting There

You can park at the TH off of FR 552, but it seems like a real pain to get there to me. You can access 552 off of 550, but it is a circuituous route that takes a while. I recommend parking at the Pine Valley Ranch Open Space TH (see other trail) instead.

When to Bike

The usual seasonal info for the area is applicable. Some of this trail is in the burn area, and therefore more exposed. If starting at PVROSP, there is a drinking fountain and bathrooms available at the TH.
